Pelé is in third place in the list of all-time top goalscorers in international matches,
Rank Name Country Goals
1 Ali Daei [Iran] 104
2 Ferenc Puskas [Hungary/Spain] 84
3 "Pelé" [Brazil] 77
This doesn't take into consideration all the goals he scored for his various club teams. (Santos & NY Cosmos)
Once you take that into consideration you get these numbers for the Great Pele:
1281 goals scored in 1363 total matches (record)
2006-04-10 09:00:40 UTC
According to official records, his career stats are as follows:
Santos FC: 1124 goals in 1265 games
New York Cosmos: 65 goals in 111 games
Brazil: 77 goals in 92 games
Total: 1266 goals in 1468 games
However, his total number of goals is reported differently by various sources. Presumably, this is due to the unreliability of statistics from his earlier years playing for Santos in Brazil, and disagreements about whether or not the goals he scored in numerous exhibition matches (particularly towards the end of his career) should count.

Pele's statistics are staggering. During his career he scored 1,280 goals in 1,360 games, second only to another Brazilian, Arthur Friedenreich, who recorded 1,329 goals.
