He's one of my favourite men on the planet and my absolute favourite personality from Barcelona. I like him more than the players ans he does deserve more credit. People use the 'inherited team' excuse too much. It was he who made the decision to sell Henry and Ronaldinho and focus on making Messi the fulcrum of the team. Low and behold, he created the best player in modern football. Just because he didn't make up Tiki-Taka doesn't mean he can't have credit to it. He made it almost (almost!) faultless. Yeah he's made a few mistakes but that's part of the learning process. A lesser manager couldn't have won 13 trophies.

No he is a good at Reading the game , his subs in different game is the proof and not any body can manage a good team in the way that they actually perform , the most current example would be Rafa Benitez that couldn't do well at inter (even with the team who had won the CL) . i do agree with the fundamental was built by Johan Cruyff and Frank Rijkaard but you cant underestimate the role of pep in Barcelona's success

i guess cos fans mostly care about results, not how those results are achieved. not many are interested or capable of getting to that level of understanding of the game. *shrug

He is a good coach, but not a great coach...yet. He has coached for a few years. He needs to rebuild teams and reinvent himself either at Barcelona or another club. He has made some poor mistakes, but he is learning. And yes, this Barcelona team has raised the bar too high. I'm surprised they've sustained it this high for so long. That is a great feat in itself.

I'll give him a lot of credit. I don't like Benitez, but he inherited a squad and got to the Champions League final twice in 3 seasons with Liverpool. I'll give Pep as much praise as is warranted. He has had it easy with his squad, but he has also left his imprint on football with tiki-taka.

4 CL semi-finals in a row, not 5 ( just had to point that out; don't mind, mate ).

Pep Guardiola deserves the credit; he has definitely set high standards at the club. He has made some mistakes but then, who is free from blame.

Barca's style of play can remain the same; just a few things need to be tweaked. The build-up needs to be faster. A target man ( what you said revisiting with another player after Ibra didn't fit in ) should be brought in. They also need a ball-playing CB, NOT Mascherano at CB. A LB would be good too.
